Kenya: Man Killed by Crocodile at Nyaroya Beach The body of a man who was killed by a crocodile while taking a bath at a beach in Mbita has been recovered. Rescuers found the body of Bernard Ochieng' Waidi, 23, at Nyaroya Beach on Lake Victoria, two days after the attack. Ochieng' was attacked and killed by the reptile while he and four of his friends were bathing in the lake at 6.30pm. An eyewitness told the police the reptile pounced on Ochieng' and hurling him into the deeper waters. His friends watched helplessly as the crocodile dragged Ochieng' away. They escaped unhurt. Mbita police boss Cheruto Githinji said rescuers among them personnel from Kenya Wildlife Service, police, fishermen and members of the public led to the recovery of the body. The incident comes barely two months after Philip Onyango,12, a standard three pupil at Nyangidha Primary School, was attacked by a crocodile while bathing at Kananga Beach in Lake Victoria. His body has not yet been recovered.
