Has anyone read this book yet and, if so, what is your assessment? Pretty pricey at $150.

Mike,

Get the DVD. Much cheaper and the info is excellent in my opinion.

Got the DVD, so sounds like the book would be redundant. Thanks.

I got the book this week and will give a report in the book section when I complete it. It's a very fine book and I'm pleased to have it.

According to Richard Harland (who wrote the foreword), the book is based upon hundreds of days of hunting leopards as well as dozens of kills taken personally and also observed by Boddington, Danklef, Fulson and others. There are many references to PHs like Dawson, Harland, etc.

Without going into a full review, I think it's a great book with some really interesting photos like time sequenced kill shots, awesome taxidermy (we all know that cats are tough to do right), a neat section on other African cats and many other interesting things.

I have the DVD also and they are two different critters. I like them both for different reasons. Now if I can just find that Chui book without breaking the bank...

The book is a boxed signed copy, nicely done in blue velour. It may some day be a collector - who knows? I just liked it.

I do concur with YD's comment. I have both the DVD and book, and enjoy both. I also got CHUI! before I went on my hunt, and plan on including both in some type of a display of my trophy in the room. The color plates in the book are on almost every page; however, quite a few are on the DVD also, so they're duplicated. I think the movie is the best 3 hours I have spent learning facts and techniques. The taxidermy photos of mounts from various shops are nice, with a variety of poses. Giving the wife lots of ideas for the proper pose.

Got this notice today from Boddington's website...

"We printed only 1250 copies, 200 pages, in color, numbered, signed by all three authors, and in a presentation box. We will not reprint this book in any form, so I believe this will become a true collector’s item, and will probably become the most valuable of any of my books. At this writing, in late October, we have less than 500 copies remaining."

I love good books but one of the reasons I bought it was that it will only be printed once.

I enjoyed the DVD and also reading this book.

It is a first class book with great pictures best enjoyed with single malt.

ALLEN W. JOHNSON - DRSS

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

I've got both the video and the book. I've read the book three times now and have learned (or re-learned) something each and every time.

I've put it on my Christmas list and hope my wife buys one before they are long gone.
