Here is the link to my public album at Picasa. There are a couple of pics for viewing. If anyone knows how to attach them to this post feel free.

I had to right click and View Image with my mouse to see the picture.

Very nice Nyala, make mine look pretty small.

Editing my post since you put up a link, to view the picture the way that I did was on your first post.

I am curious. On this thread I cannot see ANY pics. Just the infamous little square with the red 'X' in it . It's even in Aspen Hill's avatar. What setting is wrong on my machine that causes this. Any hint would be appreciated.
Just one more of the reasons I HATE PC's.

You aren't the only one who can't see any pictures.

I am having the same problem but if you right click on the little square with the "X" and choose View Image you can see the picture. Kinda of a pain but it gets the job done.

There is nothing wrong with your PC. I am updating my website and the new software lost my photo gallery, I am hoping to get it back soon. But that is why my avatar, etc is not showing up.

Justus .... not your typical "safari" rifle. Tell us a little about the rifle set-up and how far the shot was?

I'm a big fan of tactical style rifles (although nothing tops an English Double). It's a Sako TRG-22 in .308 caliber. The scope is a Nightforce 3.5-15 / 50mm. It's not the lightest but it's what I'm used to carring so I don't know any better Big Grin I was using a Sierra 165gr Game King, used them exclusively in this rifle and haven't lost anything yet.

As for the shot it was only at around 70 meters. I spotted the females while walking along a dirt road on the farm. I was sure the male would be near by so I walked past to around 70 meters and lay down in the road and waited. Sure enough the male stepped out about 5 minutes later and stopped to look when my safety clicked off. He dropped at the shot.

I'm still curious, some of you suggest that you right click and 'view image' but when I right click I get 'show picture' as an option but it does nothing. I run Windows XP home is it an operating system thing or something else. I've been curious about this for some time and cannot seem to find an explanation. This also happens on the Botswanna webcam site. I'm not very proficient on PC's as you probably gathered.

Justus,

Welcome to the Board. Thanks for posting the picasa web site that does carry the pictures (the little red x is hopeless, you all).

The Nyala is spectacular and the conformation of the impala's horns make it a special trophy.
Regards, Tim

Thanks for getting those pics up, please let me know how.

The hunt took place this past weekend 29th to the 1st October. It was my Birthday so I decided to take the family away, nothing beats the bush. I hunted in the Kwa Zulu Natal area on the Swart Umfolozi River. The farm is a nature reserve of around 40 000 hectars (about 99 000 acres)with a hunting area of around 3500 hectars (8600 acres). There are no game fences and the animals move freely in the area.

The Nyala as measured on the farm and confirmed by my taxidermist is 29 1/4 inches and 30 inches.

Other animals shot during our trip but not by me were 2 Zebra, 1 Blue Wildebeest, 1 Common Duiker.

Going to give this photo attaching another go, sorry for those of you who have already checked the pics at Picasa.

This is a pig we shot with a Spanish client in Ellisras on the Limpopo River. I don't think he actually realised what he had, he only took the tusks!

Great pics Justus but my shoulder hurts just thinking about carrying that rifle around the bush! Wink

Thanks for the additional information on your hunt. That is one HUGE warthog. What a mounted trophy that would have been!
