Hi Folks, I seem to remember that a book was written a ways back that traces the history of SCI to the present. I've been doing searches and can't find anything. Does anyone know if this book exists and where I can get a copy? Thanks

PM billrquimby about "The History of SCI" He is the AR member who wrote the book. ALLEN W. The book is fairly new as far as I understand. Yes, Bill Quimby is the author. It was just advertised this past week in the SCI Safari Times newspaper. If you get that publication you can find all of the information on how to get a copy of it in the SCI newspaper. Or look on the SCI website as well.

My "The History Of Safari Club International" is available from SCI's publications department for $100 copy. The address is 4800 West Gates Pass Road, Tucson AZ. I was paid a flat fee and won't make another dime if the edition sells out, but I'll be happy to autograph books for AR members. Call 520-620-1220 and ask for Lauri in Publications, then tell her how you would like me to inscribe your book. I live in Tucson and stop by SCI headquarters whenever she has books for me to autograph. Bill Quimby

Bill, Was Sam Pancotto one of the original founders of SCI? ALLEN W. "Bill, was Sam Pancotto one of the original founders of SCI?" Pancotto may have been involved in one of SCI's first chapters and therefore could be called a "founder." I suspect he also may have been one of the people C.J. McElroy approached whenever SCI needed money (there were many such people). Pancotto, and his close friend Bert Klineburger, were big SCI supporters from very early on. I don't think he ever served in any office. Bill

MJines' You have to buy these "Awards", either from SCI or any other place like e-bay. About six months ago or such, I received notification from SCI that I was eligible for some "Awards" and for the sum of $12,000.00 they would be delivered to me with my name engraved upon them. I can't remember, but it seems to me that to get the "Awards" one would have to attend the convention, but I cannot swear to it.

Seeing as how the guy’s name is engraved on it, one would have to really stupid to waste that much money. Vote Trump- Putin’s best friend… To quote a former AND CURRENT Trumpiteer - DUMP TRUMP

To be honest you would be really stupid to waste that much money to have YOUR name on it.

So Hoot if am understanding you correctly you were contacted by SCI because you were eligible to win an "award" (presumably because you entered some animals into the record book) and they wanted you to pay $12,000 AND pay to come to the convention to collect it?

In other circles I think that’s called a “ransom.”

Guides in.Africa I.know hate the sci they hold them for ranson to do shows bad give them free hunts .I saw a head of sci steal a donated $2000 rifle for himself .After that I had no use for the sci .They were charging $1000 donations for vendors then went up to $5000 I quit doing it .They made outfitters give away free hunts that they bought for cheat at their sci auctions I have nothing to do with them won't return to any of their theiving shows they set up that way .I had to tell a drunk sci official to put down my books I was selling ,after the show it was closed and was suppose to be secured .

rxgremlin Yes, that is correct. I have listed a quite a few trophies in the record book. I do this to give the outfitter and PH credit for their good work. I have no interest in the "awards". As in my post, I said that I thought, but cannot swear to having to go to the convention to have them presented to me. I assume that if you paid for the "awards" they would ship them to you. However having them "presented" to you at the convention at some banquet would be a great plus for you if you are interested in the "awards".
