I've seen that photo before on some other web-site but I don't recall where.

Is it my imagination or is that buffalo not lying right? It looks like it is rigid, as if it is a full mount that has been laid on its side and posed for the photo.

Bwana Bob,

I think you just nailed it. The neck should be bent, and the hips are also off of the ground.

Maybe the hunt is just as real as the picture

IE: You get to posse with the same buff, and then tell your friends that your trophy never made it out of Africa.

Genuine buff or not, I opened the picture in Photoshop and enlarged it. I was wondering a bit about those 3 post like "sticks" right behind the "hunter". There is no doubt that there is wire between the posts... An RSA ranch hunt maybe?

Btw, I also think that there is something strange about the buffs position. Kind of stiff in an un-natural way.

Some observations

It sure looks like a mount or if not a VERY STIFF buff ... Hard to tell but the bush/trees look like Africa and Eric is correct there seems to be the remnants of a very insecure wire fence behind, or the old droppers !!

Unless there are areas like that in Texas ??? OR thirdly trick photograpy. The picture itself seems genuine on observation.

Just by the way ....

The website is very nice and I believe it is produced or designed by the flash marketing people in Maine Douglas Marks, in fact from my limited technical webpage knowledge and observations they have also produced the two other websites that are shown as links off that site being / Safari Chick & Animal Interiers

My BEST guess then is that maybe the aforsaid Douglas Marks has done all the promotion marketing ideas on ebay and produced and designed the three webpages, quite innovative really as far as marketing goes, and as I mentioned they are very nicely designed websites which need some credit.

So now weeeeee only need a [ Wannabe Shirlock Holmes ] on the job to find out whom that happy hunter ( looks like a South African actor ) is in all his smiling glory, and where in fact that buff is on vaction or location ( looks like SA )

I have NO DOUBT the ( very extinguished AR guests ) will blog out the full facts in time

Regards, Peter
