I for one hate any bad news from Africa that may make the lives of ALL Africans worse than it already is.
I have a great love for Africa & those that I have so far come in contact with both black & white.
I so wish things would get better for ya'll, but I also see things going to hell in a hand basket here in the states as well.
Don't know if or when things will ever get better there or here.
The respect I have for those that endure & continue to "make a plan" is extremely high.
Not sure I'm tough enough to continue under those conditions, but maybe God would give me the strength to face it head on.
I will be praying for better days for my brothers & sisters on a continent so far away, but so close to my heart.

That captures my feelings perfectly. Well said.

It's all gonna be alright

I am told that it is not PC to refer to local "black outs" in South Africa - but that these should be referred to as "previously enlightened areas"...

Yip, load shedding is another one they use these days to make it seem normal for a country to cut power supply frequently Big Grin Just a bunch of half-wits that do not comprehend the word MAINTENANCE! When I stayed in Bathurst not so long ago they had an article in the paper that described the tap water as having traces of human faeces in it. This the water coming out the taps in your kitchen! I can just see the buggar at the water plant taking a pee in the water with all his mates and thinking nothing of it! barf

Yeah, one of my favourites is the puken "ripple relay switch" that controls the hot water cylinder. Nothing irritates as much as finding no hot water. I am now on a written warning not to break the seals or tamper with the bloody thing. The last time "they" came and sealed it, they photographed it and I had to sign that it was in my house and that the seals were in place.

The nice thing about SA is that motorists can get their speeding/whatever fines instantly reduced/ voided if they pay in cash/booze/KFC/whatever BEFORE the poor cop wastes his energy and works his brain too much writing out the fine. Big Grin Saeed sorry if this off topic but Im sure Uncle Bob would be proud of SA!

We seem to have some of the same problems here in the USA with some of our black politicians. Oh? That sounds like racism? The racism card has been played too often. If it looks like corruption, smells like corruption, and tastes like corruption, it is.
