I was at a show recently an a booking agent there had a safari for plains game in Namibia for 3 animals (orxy,Hartmans zebra, kudu) that he advertized as ALL inclusive from Windhoek and back for $3800 plus trophy fees for additonal animals...seems really inexpensive. He spoke a good story and I am considering it, does that seem "too good to be true" BB

Well, in order to make an informed decision one would need to know; Who is the outfitter? How many days hunting are included? What does "all inclusive" mean? Does it include VAT, etc? What is the ranch like, accommodations, size, trophy quality, etc.?

Often these packages are well priced, knowing that one will book more days and take more animals.

For comparison's sake, look at one of Tony da Costa's Huntpacks. He offers 8 days hunting (1X1) with kudu, 2 gemsbok, 2 springbok, zebra, steenbuck and ostrich for $3,950.

Allocate about $2,000 for Trophy Fees (Kudu $850, Gemsbok $400 and Zebra $750) and that makes your Daily Rate on your $3,800 deal (7 days hunting) at $250/Day. Not necessarily a great deal. A good deal, but not a steal. Just depends on the outfitter and the concession.

Regards,

Terry

Ballbuster,

I don't know your guy but a friend and I went to Namibia last year for $5500.00 and this included the following; 8 full hunting days, food and lodging with full services, trophy fees for Kudu, Gemsbok, Mountain Zebra and Warthog, transportation to and from Windhoek to the hunting property and ROUND TRIP AIRFARE FROM ATLANTA.

I think it has gone up to $5700.00 this year due to airline prices. The agent is Tommy Morrison of Sporting International in Channelview,Texas. 281-452-6223. email sport@sportinginternational.com.

His reputation is spotless. Feel free to contact me for more info.

All INCLUSIVE should mean just that unless so stated....

I call my Buffalo Hunts in Tanzania " all inclusive" at $10,550 2x1, except I stipulate f a $200 per rifle at Dar and tips that are optional...

We do not include the gov. rifle fee as some folks insist on bringing too many gun and we have no control over that or over tips.....

I would like to enclude a 10% tip, and a $200 fee and call it "All inclusive" but Pierre feels a tip is a gift and any amount is sufficient, he is probably right....
