Just watched the 1950's version last night with the family. Excellent movie in it's own right. I love the dialogue between Quartermain and Beth and the acting is far better than most things on TV these days. But this is one of those movies that I believe comes up short of the original story. It's so different from Haggard's novel that, other than some of the events and the main character's name I wouldn't have known it was based on the book at all. As a stand alone movie though, it was thoroughly enjoyable.
You nailed that down Saeed, I agree 110%, todays hunting shows are so staged that on a 30 minute show they wait 28 minutes for said elk or deer to turn broadside and pose like a Hollywood sex queen!!
