Flying Through Frankfurt?

I am making my first trip to Namibia from the US in May. It looks like the best arrangements might be to fly into Frankfurt and then straight to Windhoek. If I spend a couple of days in Frankfurt before getting back on the plane, does anyone know if taking my rifles on and off the plane there will be an issue? Thanks.

I would check with Kathi Klimes or with Gracy Travel. I had my guns inadvertently offloaded in Frankfurt on the return flight and after dealing with the German Customs people(who didn't know what to do after consulting their manuals and other officials), I convinced them to call Delta's representative. He saved the day, and we were able to match the connecting flight.

Been through Frankfurt via Denver twice. Layovers were 10hrs and I took a day room at the Sheraton across the street. Absolutely seemless transfer to Windhoek. Doing it again in June.
