It seems quite a few people like to post their hunts on Instagram, which great.

But, some seem to blank their faces!!

What for?

If you are ashamed of being a hunter, do not post your photos.

Or post photos without your face!

Same with Facebook. One outfit here on AR regularly posts on Facebook with faces blanked out.

I think it is appropriate for an outfitter to blank clients’ faces unless express consent to do so.

A lot of this is fallout from Palmer/Cecil.

Having personally met many of the hunters here on AR, I posit that the blanking out of faces is not such a bad idea :-)

I can understand a Blaser user being ashamed to show his face.

But hunters using proper rifles should not! rotflmo

Some people make their living through paying clients.

As sad as it is; many people have such extreme views on hunting, they would not only refuse to hire a hunter, but they would organize boycotts and protests.

Look at what happened to the dentist that shot Cecil.

Me, I am independently solvent, so those anti-hunters can kiss my ass.

I blank faces out.

It is simple. We can risk exposing clients to this BS of the ARA, but want to still honor the animal by sharing with other like minded people.

Take note that both PHASA and NAPHA got advise from Social media specialists on how we should engage in posting on Social media.

It's got nothing to do with shame, trust me....

Rather than blank our faces. I tell my outfitter to take pics with the trophy or with their trackers etc....blanked faces look crappy!

Folks,

+1 I've written on this before. If you want shitty looking trophy pix scrub out the faces of the clients. If you want nice pix take a separate pic for advertising with PH or trackers in the shot with the trophy in place of the client. Your client's don't need to be in the pix at all.

I agree shame has nothing to do with it. Many clients have lots to loose if their faces are spread all over social media with dead animals. This is a real issue in today's hunting world.

Take a set of photos of the animal without the hunter, without anyone in the background for public viewing rather than a photo with a blanked face.

Please don't!

They will just evaporate if we do this! clap
