It was good, but I'd say it's the economy stupid
Seems to me that Afican guys are pushing rates up with ever increasing speed. Big part of it is the greedy african government officials, but overall everyone plays the greedy part. It's too bad for us Regular guys, but that's life. Hope someone will choke on that.

Do you think that the continued (very) poor state of the US$ in foreign exchange may be contributing significantly to rising hunt costs?

It certainly is where I come from....

Matt,
I fear your are correct. The USA is in decline and on a rapid slope acclerated by Obamavich policies and the electorate's acceptance. Not since FDR has the USA experienced such a precipitious slide toward communisim. Oh well, What to do, Woe is me.
Unfortunately, this is the mind set of many of my friends. My friends are the ones that might book hunts but they are afraid of unforseen conequences. They don't want to commit when they are the target of Obamavich.
Therefore, the foreign outfitters need to understand that they are competing for a smaller market and react accordingly.

in terms of southern hemisphere outfitters the question was a litle rhetorical... I know it is a major contributing factor!!

I think most outfitters realise that the market has contracted too, over the last 5 years and are taking steps to combat that , if they want to stay in the game.
