Anyone use Coppersmith to bring their trophies in? They seem to be very experienced and have a base in Dallas, which helps me.

Any experience to share?

Search the forum. You will find several threads where Coppersmith's service is discussed.

I have had mixed results with Coppersmith. Two good experiences and one bad experience. For my latest trophies, I will be using ABX Logistics, they have a Dallas office.

I used ABX Logistics for my June 2004 hunt.
They did a great job and there were no outrageous prices.

And I won't be using ABX again.

It seems it's a crap shoot. Cool

Coppersmith has helped me out when I have had sheep hunters returning from Mongolia and Tajikistan. Coppersmith had their employees work overtime so the hunters could literally hand off their Argali trophies and catch their next flight.

Coppersmith will be clearing our trophies from our last safari when they arrive in San Francisco.

I have nothing but good things to say about them.

They just cleared some for me and everything arrived intact. I had intended to use ABX but there were complications which have been covered in a different thread.

As said above, it seems to be a toss up as I have read negative and positive reports on here about several of the customs brokers.

Kensco,
Used Coppersmith service in 9/05 to bring in my mounts, thought the service was worth the charges. No complaints.

I just used Coppersmith here in Atlanta. I considered trying to clear the capes and horns myself, but for $420, it seemed like a bargin.

I have used Coppersmith's twice to import my trophies, everything went very smoothly. They cleared everything before any storage fees were charged by customs.

I use whoever Tom Hardesty with Atcheson's Taxidermy is currently using. He has used all the well known outfits including Coppersmith's.
Currently at least for shipments coming through Seattle which is handiest for people in the northwest he is using James J. Boyle & CO. 206-447-9580 They are cheaper and the service seems to be very good.

Used Coppersmith to bring in my tusks from Zimbabwe and couldn't be happier with their service thru Dallas. Propmt courteous and couldn't complain about the cost really. Got a good detailed bill which I promptly lost (filed in a safe place). Here in the retirement community I live in that's called having a Green Valley moment. I would of course reccommend them. Trucking company driver even helped me get the crate into garage.
