Excellent...

So at least Mr Heffalump is appreciating the urgency in the situation whie on his way to make Bwana Pate. I'd hate to think that he was not taking his role in the procedings seriously enough to get is big arse out of the starting blocks quicksmart!!

Wow, isn't that just great. We now know that elephants can run! This will make me make a hasteier reteat next time I am in front of one heading my way. If it were not for science where would we be?

According to the article:

Even at their top speed of 15 mph,

Saying that 15mph (24km/h) is the top speed for an elephant is complete BS. I've been chased in our Land Rover by elephants a lot fast than that, and I also seem to recall Ganyana and various other mentioning speeds up around 25 mph (40km/h).

I look forward to some of these scientists getting run down by elephants exceeding their 15mph speed limit. Wink

Top speed of 15mph? I, too, have been in vehicles chased by elephants at higher speeds than 15mph.

Also, when you consider that a fit human can sprint faster than 15mph, how come elephants have caught so many, over the years, and turned them into strawberry jam?

Where would we be without such scientists?

This elephant was going 200 m.p.h.... or so it seemed!

I know that I've posted this picture before, but, dang!... I think it was terrifingly perfect moment! Kind of like recording how I was going to die???

I DON'T know what the big deal is...
You want to stop an elephant charging,
just cut up his credit cards.
