The perfect bushbuck!
Hi Everyone,

Just thought I would share this pic of a monster bushbuck photographed by Warren Rudy, a friend of mine recently. And no I'm not saying where, will give me a challenge to find him myself during the off season. So what size are you guys guessing? I know I'd shoot him on the first morning of a 10 day hunt!

Regards

Murray

Equivalent to a 50" Cape buffalo! Amazing. I think it is half nyala.

The rare and elusive midget nyala. Big Grin Horns almost remind me of a sitatunga.

Let's hope he's being successful with the lady bushbucks so we can see plenty more like him.

Mature, but he doesn't look very old. Would appear he's had excellent nutrition and genetics. 21 inches would be my estimate. That would be worth flying over to hunt...1x1 for 10 days, 14 if necessary.
Cheers,
David

I think 20+ is an overestimation....not to take anything away from this great animal. If he grew up wild and unfed and not in a paddock, he is the trophy of a lifetime at maybe just over 18".

WHY shoot him, a little brain matter would tell any half-wit to let him breed. Roll Eyes The good news is that at least the begger is in a reserve where he can make the girls happy. Mr Rudy should tell of the bushpigs in the same vicinity. Cool

The world record of just over 21 is in my local bow shop and use to hang in my office. It is a pick up by good friend Riaan de Jager. This animal is in the same class.....unless it is from the Eastern Cape then it must be about 18"

Wow Murray!
I hope he breeds fast before someone gets him, what a trophy.
Give Dutch a pet and tell Petra hi for us.
For those who aren't familiar, Dutch is Murray's three legged tracking dog that gets around like you would not believe.
