| Just got back from hunting elephant with a .458 Win Mag. I used 480 Woodleigh solids and softs with great success on elephant, leopard, zebra, hyena, bushbuck and baboon. For the record, I used 66 grains of RL7 and Federal 215M primers. Velocity was right at 2200 fps in my rifle.

| With 72 grains of AA2230 I can get 2240 fps with both the 450 North Fork solid and the 450 grain TSX. Powder compression is either zero or minimal. I have shot a 3-shot one inch group with the North Fork. The TSX shoots 1.5" groups about 3/4" higher at 100 yards. This load does not look like it's very high pressure in my rifle but your's may vary. Always work up and be safe. With this load, I cannot see much utility in a Lott.

| Another vote for the Barnes TSX and banded solid in a 450 gr.
