If you were limited to two Rifles what would they be?
If you play by the silly rules, my LH M70 in 375 H&H and my LH Stag 15 in 223.

If you're an original thinker:

Two CRF long action Savages and then I'd own three boltheads for each, 6 mag boxes and 60 barrels and have every cartridge that I could want.

My choices would be my Rem 416 and my 338 Rem Ultra Mag.

Two Mausers:
1) 7x64, Swarovski 3-9x36
2) .375 H&H with good open sites and VXIII 1.75-6x32 in Claw Mounts. Rear opened action, accompanying bottom metal with 4 down, barrel band

Both with 23" barrels, quality walnut, M70 safeties, Timney triggers.

Other options would be .30-06 or 7x57 on the lighter end or 9,3 (either 62 or 64) or a.404Jeff on the upper end.

Is that two rifles for everything or two rifles for each species we hunt or want to hunt plus two for each competitive event, because that seems more realistic to me. Big Grin

If I were limited to only two total it would be my .375 H&H and .222 Remington.

The heavy gun is easy...416 Rem Mag. The light one is a toss up between the 30-06 and 338 Win Mag. Guess I'd settle on the 30-06 as the light rifle.

Just two?

1) 9,3x62 with 3-9X scope and ghost ring sights.
2) Frankengun flat top 20" AR-15 in .223, 2.5-10X scope and popup battle sights.

One for pleasure and one for business...

That's exactly what I would say as well. I'd even go so far as to have them be the same rifle (M70 LH would be nice), and have the same scope on each so there would never be a question when I shouldered one. It might sound a little boring and monotonous, but I'd never be uncertain when taking a shot.

I think I would stick with the classics.
A 270 Win, and a 375 H&H, both on 98 actions.

If I couldn't have a shotgun as well, I would have to think that over carefully.
Maybe a 300 or 338, and a shotgun.
Maybe a drilling 12/12/7x65R and a 375 H&H?

Don't know, I hope I never have to choose just 2 rifles!

There is no spoon.

I think I would have to go with two of the favorites in my gun safe: M77 .338 win mag, and my Whitworth in .416 Rem.......

Just 2?

In a survival mode, I suppose my 30-06 with a bunch of softs and some solids and a my old Win. 63 in 22 L.R. I wouldn't like it much but I'd get by.....and I could carry enough 22 ammo in one pocket to last a lifetime.

Not in a survival mode, I suppose my 06 and my .375, naw make it the same 22....

Since I only have two rifles, the choice is easy! Smiler

My 700ADL rem in 308w, with the meopta 1.5-6 scope and a sackfull of 185grain lapua mega factory ammo.

I know it said centerfire, but I would still take my 22LR bolt action..

Two 30-06s. One sighted in with 165 gr premium bullet. The other sighted in with the heaviest 30 cal. premium bullet available. Both Mark x Mauser actions. Amen.

I found that the 338 win mag and the 416 rem mag are very versitle. With bullets from 160 grs to 300 gr for the 338 and 300 to 450 for the 416 rem mag. Both are alot flatter shooting than you would think.i like medium heavy barrels for both.

A pre 64 M70 in 375 H&H and another Pre 64 M70 in 375 H&H. If they're gonna limit you to two, the next step is to limit you to one! And when they come to get the last one, hopefully they won't find the one that's buried out behind the barn. Wink
