We are wondering if Earnest would like to accompany us to Zim on October 18, 2010.

It would be a privilege to host him on this trip!!!

He went to Jeff H and is now in Zambia. After that, he is headed to Anton Dahlgren in Sweeden for a September 20 trip to Zim. Anton can fill you in on his return schedule details.

I have my own "personal" Ernest that will be going with me to Chete on September 7-28th. Would you like me to entrust him to someone in Zimbabwe so that they may get him to you? Or I could just mail him to you when I return?

I'm sure that Russell at Ultimate Lodge will figure a way to get him to wherever you need him to be!

Judge: Lil' Ernest arrived safe and sound (although a bit cramped) we will show him some Texas hospitality around the farm until our flights on Saturday...don't worry about his health on the hunt....Dr Scott is the best vet I have ever met.....see you at Chete.

Just got a text from Lil' Ernest:

quote:
Life is good. I've always liked barbeque without sauce and these Texas guys know how to cook brisket. Single malt and Cubans, too!

One problem, though. Do I really have to sleep with this Bigguy dude? His wife looks o.k., but damn! I'll bet he snores.

See you in Chete!

Lil" Ernest is enjoying the mild Texas weather, only going to be around 90 today, down from 107 last Sunday...He spent some time relaxing in a rocking chair on the front porch watching the cattle graze, but didn't care for the hound dogs too much....I'll try to post a couple of pictures if I can figure out how to do it....also noticed him eyeing Rebecca a couple of times, might have to keep an eye on him!

Lil Ernest is currrently cooling his heels in the Sky Club in Atlanta making sure Dr Scott doesn't get in any trouble, leaving for Joburg in about 3 hours.

Judge,

We would be proud to have the original Earnest accompany us.

We will be hunting with Dudley Rogers, arrive Bulawayo on Oct 19.

If Earnest comes home from Chete with you we could make arrangements for him to spend a few days at our house before we leave.

Dulcinea:

Send me a p.m. with your address and, upon my return, you'll get a package... hopefull with a good memories of a fine chui, a tuskless, a long-in-the tooth hippo and a hard-bossed buff's demise forever embedded in Ernest the Elephant's hard drive. Big Grin

BTW, Ernest is kind of like Santa (or Flying Elvises, come to think of it). Sometimes Ernest's "helpers" have to spread around the ju-ju. All of the Ernest's have come from me (actually I just bought them and certainly didn't make them, but what the heck?).

No one Ernest is superior to the others. Like my daughters and my girlfriend, they are all perfect.... except when they go shopping.

I sent SBT the first Ernest last year and after two very big elephants, Scott retired that first mini-Tembo to the loving care his grandchild. Biebs (was it you?) had one that is in Denmark now (I think?) and he is enroute in a couple of days to Africa.

I sent my personal "Ernest" off to Texas last week. After the torture of Delta to JNB and then to Vic Falls, he arrived by charter today in Chete and is plesantly asleep tonight on the cliffs overlooking Lake Kariba. In a couple of hours Ernest will be climbing into George or Lou Hallamore's Cruiser for the first morning's buffalo hunt. Wish him, and his escort, BigBuy458, luck!

I will "recover" my buddy and mentor, Lil' Ernest, when I get off the charter at Chete in 10 short, short days. When I get back to Vic Falls, he is going river rafting with me and will have supper at the Boma, mopane worms and all. Not a bad life for a stuffed animal.

Can't wait to sit on the hill overlooking the lake and toast the Southern Cross with a fine Scotch and a good cigar with my buddy!!!!!

In any event, Ernest is batting 100%! Let's keep it up!!!!!

Dulcinea, just make sure he has single malt and good cigars! He's an expensive date, but makes good company.

I just ordered three more Ernests. Delivery is scheduled to me on the 3rd of September. If anyone wants one for good ju-ju for their safari, just send me a P.M. with your address and I'll send the first three guys (or ladies) one with the caveat that you must feed him well and then pass him along to another pilgrim... or give him to a grandchild.

As is what happened in the case of the Ernie's visit to Tucson. He came twice over.. I got the 1st one out to Biebs quietly.. the other..well let's just say that I would be knee deep in doo-doo if I was to send Ernie away from my 3yr old daughter!! She drags that thing around EVERYWHERE with her! Suffice it to say, Ernie now resides here for a few more years. Alas, I do plan on taking good care of the little guy and will continue to take him along on my trips during his extended stay here at the house. He'll be back in the Zim bush in a month chasin' buff. He seems to be quite good at that.
