Father and son hunt

Karl SFather and son hunt
I recently had the pleasure to take a friend and his son on a hunting trip. This was the perfect excuse for another friend from Germany to join us, and of course my own son joined us as well, as it is school holidays. This is the results more from the boys perspective, as I think they enjoyed it the most by far! (Of course the adults also had a ball!!!)
We hunted in Southern Namibia, close to the town of Keetmanshoop, where I grew up. IMO this is a very underrated hunting destination.
Let the pics tell the story!
Edrich sighting Rob's .308
Father and son enjoying the warm campfire
Rob with his kudu
Sean's kudu
Edrich laughing his @ss off for Mickey and Sean eating liver, not knowing that his turn is coming up the next evening.

Edrich enjoying "enjoying" his kudu's liver
Rob with his springbok
Sean with his springbok
Rob and the boys with his gemsbok
Edrich with his gemsbok. This was his 3rd gemsbok, but by far his best shot ever on a gemsbok.

NakihunterFantastic stuff. I would like to take my son (11 now) to Africa one day. My 14 yr old girl and my boy have come with me to shoot fallow deer & goats.

Karl SNakihunter, both boys are about 11 years old, Sean turned 11 earlier the year, and Edrich will be 11 early in September.
And I must add they both did great! They shot 5 animals between them with 6 shots, only Sean's springbok requered an extra shot. The silencer works very well in taming the .308's recoil, though it was a schlep to handle. (Springbok was shot with my .243)

Adam, no it was not Zirks place. I have hunted myself on it before, but never with clients. It looks like we will have around 90 000 acres around there to hunt, fly camping mostly. I will try and find more photos of the terrain and the camp, and post them as well. (We also hunted on the farm I told you about that my father bought in 1998 just before he died.)

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

adamhunterHi Frederick,
I've been doing well. How about you? Been meaning to post a hunt report from our hunt with you and Karl, but since it basically a journal from when I started planning to coming home, its ballooned into way more than I intended. Need to edit for posting. Looking forward to the video. Please let keep me posted as I would like to get a CD of it for Dad.
Thanks!
Adam
