Have any of you ever had the chance to hunt Mauritius Island (off the coast of Madagascar) for Rusa Deer? Looks like a beautiful and unique place to hunt....

Thierry and my wife have been trying to get me to go there for a couple of years as Thierry's family lives there and Thierry spends a good deal of time there in the offseason.

There was an apprentice for Zambezi Hunters named Marc Guimbeau (I think). His family lived there. He talked a lot about the hunting there. He spoke very highly of it.

Got a couple of quotes for this year and ended up booking in Zimbabwe for next year. Expensive to say the least.

Wade,

John and Laura Du Plooy spent their holiday at season's end there this last year. They said it was wonderful and highly recommended the experience.

If you like folklore, Big Game Fishing, sparkling sands and A class beach lodges, Mauritius is the place to go and relax for a couple of weeks.
Dunno if you want to call shooting a deer as hunting, but what the heck, go hunt a deer for a day then go fish Black and Blue Marlin.
