This probably is the proper spot for this, but not sure where. In cleaning the garage today i came accross some '69 Americasn Riflemen magazines. Amazing what the prices were at that time. As well as the companies advertising then and gone or not active today. There were ads for Buehler 'scope mounts on various double rifles Maynard has is his collection. I saw a Keith Stegall, pre-64 custom in .270 (excellent)for sale at $410.00. Westley Richards would sleeve your double shotgun for $150.00 or $200 for a 10 ga. In the April, '69 issue is a brief review of Elmer Keiths book Safari and the price was only $7.95. Try to buy one for that now! Interesting to think about the cost of a hunting trip then also. A year end bonus would buy a nice trip, now it won't buy air fare. Such is life! | ||
