I noticed a while back that someone had mentioned something about printing out Delta's ammunition storage policy so you could have it in hand when you got flack at the counter for putting your ammo with your gun. Could someone please give me a link to the page that I should print out so I don't have any trouble, I would like to pack the ammo with the rifle and from what I have read on this forum, that is allowed.

Brian 2 I went round and round with Delta last July. I found and made copied from the TSA web site which clearly stated that ammunition can, when properly boxed and packaged, be placed inside the locked rifle case. Delta advised that TSA regs are only guidelines and the individual carrier makes the final determination. In the end Delta insisted that ammunition be placed in a locked "checked baggage" bag and not with the rifles. To make matters more confusing, A South African Airlines employee insisted just the opposite and would not allow ammunition anywhere other than in the rifle case for the flight from JHB to Zambia. I unpacked on the floor of the terminal in front of the ticket counter and put my ammunition in the hard case. Thank goodness it was a large Pellian and able to handle both rifles and all the ammunition. I hope you get a tolerant airline employee. luck, conditionone "The government cannot give to anyone anything that it does not first take from someone else."

See my thread in the travel section re Delta, their policy, and my correspondence with them. Very inconsistent- ______________________________ "Are you gonna pull them pistols,...or whistle Dixie??" Josie Wales 1866
