I am planning a safari to Namibia in 2009 or 2010.

I searched for Vaughan and did not find any newer discussion. I have heard good things about him, but would like some newer information/opinions.

I will be doing a PG hunt for Kudu, Gemsbok, Black Wildebeest, Springbok, and Warthog.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I think there are four or five 2008 hunt reports for Vaughan's Classic Safaris on the African Hunting Board if you search for them and put the results in date order.

Here is one.

Another one.

One more.

Vaughan is a good man and I would hunt with him anytime. I hunted with him last summer and had a fantastic hunt.

Here is a link to my hunt report.

I have known Vaughan since 1995 and hunted with him several times. You could not ask for a better ph.

I've hunted with Classic Safaris twice and don't think you can go wrong with Vaughan. He's a hell of a guy and one great PH. Good Luck.

I will be hunting for a third time with Vaughan later this year. In Namibia I will hunt with no one else.

I have known Vaughan since 2003 and have hunted with him several times as well as other PHs he works with.

Nobody works harder than he will to see that you have a successful hunt.

Smokepole Paul, it's hard not to like Vaughan Fulton, but I found quite a bit of disorganization and helter-skelter and mechanical breakdowns in the outfit when I hunted NW Namibia and the Caprivi. Maybe it was just the time of year I hunted (somewhat late in the season). Maybe they are coordinating and better organized now.

Also, when I was in the Caprivi I noticed a lot of new native villages springing up in the hunting concession. That means lots of cattle and people wandering around. Since you are looking for plains game you may not be hunting in that concession.

I had a great hunt with Vaughan in 2007 in the Tsiseb Conservancy. I think about it almost every day.

I hunted with Vaughn last year in the Caprivi for Elephant. My guide was Fred but Vaughn was in camp with Shawn Hall and his Dad at the time so we had some interaction. I would hunt with them again without hesitation.

They represented their hunt well and delivered on what was promised.

I hunted plainsgame in May with Vaughan's outfit and had a great hunt. I can recommend him highly. My kudu from that hunt sits in my office and I spend more time daydreaming about returning than I do actually working. :-)

Maybe Wendell is pretty sure that he is not Vaughn's type?

I have the priveledge of hunting with Vaughn this August in the Caprivi for elephant and buffalo. I have talked with him at DSC and SCI and think I will have a wonderful time. Before even thinking of booking I spent a considerable time researching different operators in Namibia, Tanzania, Zambia etc. and found nothing but good things about Vaughn. I don't think you will go wrong if you book with him.

A friend of mine at work, Lonny, raves about Vaughn. Lonny tells me he has hunted with Vaughn's outfit a few times and will go back.
