Ann, It was 1991 and there were still Rhino tracks spotted occasionaly. AJ Van Heerden was my PH, and the hunt was the first 18 days of May. AJ had said that Kudu usually don't enter the Zambezi Valley till late June, but due to the weather we were quite fortunate (57 1/2 with 10 1/2 bases.) Also a special Leopard, and a couple of Buff's. Not to mention Bushbuck's and Klippy's. Too many Impala and hundreds of Elephant. I did not get the lioness, nor the Hyena I wanted, but that's why there should always be tomorrows. As to pictures, I am seasonally seperated from my photo albums, and will be returning home in a bit over a month. I could then scan and e-mail should you so desire. As an aside, the Chewore North is what African hunting should be like, as it is truly wild. My best hunts have been there and on the North slope, west of Barrow. Enjoy, and do watch the croc's. One of my clients shot a 47 inch buffalo there a few years ago...I think that photo is on my web page, Bob Enman with a Red shirt on as I recall..havn't looked at my web lately so I am just guessing....It was about the most perfect bull that I have seen, young bull with big hard bosses and very sharp points, almost too perfect, lacked character to the old Dugga but showed a wonderfull gene pool exists there, if it hasn't been poached out. Thanks all, I am getting excited about going there. Bill, the photos are beautiful, the terrain and foliage reminds me of Natal. What river is that? What can you tell me about your camp? ~Ann | |||
