This AM on Expedition Safaris (SCI Show) there was a very good elephant hunt with Jeff Rann. Rann shot the bull and not the host Mike Rodgers. Not sure why, maybe it was a leftover quota and Rann decided to pay the fees himself and shoot it. Featured a very nice 577 H&H Royal Double as Ranns gun. Elephant looks huge as he shoots it relative to him. Not sure how much of that was photography but it was pretty cool. Hunt done the proper way for sure. Bull looked to be in the 70lb range.

saw it and enjoyed it. i was pleasantly surprised they did the shooting with the 577 and that they talked about and showed a close up of it.

I think the gun was a "loaner" from H&H. In the credits was a special thank you to Holland & Holland. I thought the video was very well done. I even kept shouting SHOOT!, SHOOT!- until he pulled the trigger! Perfect frontal brain shot.

I just looked up his site http://www.neteffects1.net/rannsafaris/index.htm

I hope the elephant was huge, his 14 day elephant hunts are $58,000 and change.
