Just got home from my 16 year old son's Boy Scout Eagle Board of Review and he passed with flying colors.

After the board told him he passed the review, He says "when do I become an Eagle rank", and they said "You are an Eagle now!"

I don't know whose more excited, my son or me.

Sorry, but I had to tell somebody, and I spend so much time here that I thought I would share my good news with my hunting buddies.

You have every reason to be proud. There aren't enough children learning the necessities of pride in accomplishment that is so positively taught in the scouts.
I remember going to school in my uniform (cub and Boy scout) and enjoying the friendship of other scouts there as well. Our meetings were right after school at one home or another and our weekends were always filled with fun and positive training provided by dads who had one skill or another.
The Eagle Scouts escaped me and I have always wished I had driven on then to achieve that pinnacle of accomplishment.

Congratulations,
Frank

From one dad of an eagle to another, Highest Congratulations. Enjoy that boy.

Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"

Congradulations!!!! It has been 17 years since I earned my Eagle but I remember it very well. It is one of the proudest moments of my life. Whether your son realizes it or not, his being an Eagle scout will serve him well the rest of his life.

Eagle Scout is a great accomplishment. I know how proud you are. I remember clearly when my son made Eagle. It is a day to remember

Congratulations!!!!

I do understand how you feel ... felt the same way for each of my three sons as they passed their Eagle review.

Really is a BIG deal, and (YES) Moms have a lot to do with it.

Yes, she certainly did. We both have been very active in our troop, as many other parents. My son is Eagle #88 in our Troop since 1987. We have over ninty registered adults and most of us do our part.

But, I suspect the ultimatum that "No Eagle = no drivers license" had something to do with it. 4+ years of hard work, and all he needed was a little motivation to finish the final details.

He's a good guy. Actually, he was telling the board about how skills he learned in Boy Scouts helped in hunting in Africa!! They asked allot of questions about that.

Congratulations!

I work with over 2000 high school kids everyday and see all levels of kids . . . from walking brain dead to the top of the heap.

I would put your son at the top of heap. You have everyright to be bustin' buttons!

And so if you meet a hunter who has been to Africa, and he tells you what he has seen and done, watch his eyes as he talks. For they will not see you. They will see sunrises and sunsets such as you cannot imagine, and a land and a way of life that is fast vanishing. And always he will will tell you how he plans to go back. (author: David Petzer)

Congradulations!

Earned my Eagle 15 years ago. My wife collected my merit badges and uniform from my parents and had it mounted in a shadow box along with my Eagle pin. Gave the whole shabang to me for my 30th birthday. Keep his stuff for him! That birthday gift was one of the best, and that shadow box hangs over the fire place now (only to be replaced with that buff I'm going to mount when I finally get to Africa!!!!) Send your son my congrats on a job well done!

Big congrats, I earned mine 17 years ago and it is still listed as the accomplishment that I am most proud of. The things that he has done to get there will help shape him the rest of his life. Glad to hear that there are still good people active in the BSA, they have really gotten a bad rap over the past few years from PC thugs. again congrats!!!

Tell him congratulations for anothr AR member. Setting and then accomplishing goals is learing to be competitive and self-disiplined. All traits that will serve him well throughout his life. Besides, there are enough old Scouts out there in leadership and management positions that it never hurts to be able to put that information on an application, resume or C.V.

An Eagle dad cant help but be prouder than any other parent.

My Daughter earned her Gold Award (like Eagle) in Girl Scouts. My oldest son was working on his Eagle Project when he passed away. The troop still recognized him on their Eagle Scout plaque in the entrane way. My second son has completed his project and is working on a few final badges. (I have a new gun set aside for him when he completes Eagle). My youngest son is First Class right now. I have been to Philmont Scout ranch with my two older boys and will be going in 2006 with my two youner ones.

see, I told you Eagle Scout Dads are proud and brag too much (or maybe not enough).

Congratulations!!!!!
