Already displaying symptoms of a troll, including the old offer to leave.

BS

Lets see a photograph or two of yourself maybe holding the .338 and .45/70 you claim to have.

Trolls rarely can post real photographs.

Mickey,

I am taking along a Ruger in .338 Win Mag. My Marlin 45-70 that was used as a scape goat to cause controversy will also be coming along though I doubt that it will see any use due to ranges I am told the game will be shot at.
I am good to say 125 yards with the 45-70 and wouldn't attempt any shot past that.

I am booked through worldtrek safaris www.worldtreksafari.com Don Leitzau the agent there came well recommended by some friends so I chose to book with him.
Leaving on the 20th back on the 29th. Will gladly send some pictures and any recovered bullets.

If I was the one who made such comments to you I would fully understand your position. However I was not. Nor would I ever.
Look I am just regular guy, married I have 4 kids 3 of which just started school for the first time. I work 70 hours a week. I travel extensively with my job and do what I can to make ends meet. If you want to believe that I have the time or the inclination to flame newsgroups, forums and websites then there is nothing I can say that will change your mind.
However I can be reached at 708-932-0828 I live in Blue Island, Il about 15 minutes from Kathi at World TraveL.

There is a very long story behind this trolling thing and this website was simply one amongst a thousand that I have visited over the years and became a target because of it.
The goal wasn't to disrupt your site as much as it was an attempt to discredit me.
If I am not welcome then I will no longer post.
Again I can not undo what someone else has done.

I built the original UBID back in 1997 at that time we were part of a California based company called PCMall.

We split off and went on our on soon afterwards, in 2000 we were acquired by CMGI Inc. and I left uBid soon after.

Carmelo,

No, I'm not familiar with Foundstone. I work in the IT field but I'm not a heavy hitter type. I just run a little LAN (about 150 users) for a law firm here in Houston. I'm basically a network administrator. A CISSP? That's impressive! I just wish I possessed a little of your knowledge about TCP/IP "stuff".

Mike416,

The people that were flaming this forum are nothing more than College kids or by now former college kids obviously still without jobs that have been waging an Internet vendetta against me since I shut down their Illegal BBS system back in 1997.
The story behind that is much to detailed to go into here and I will not be doing so.

Since then they have been flaming sites they learned I frequented, posting false newsgroup msgs's subscribing my email address to every homosexual or perverse mailing list in existence. As a IT security consultant I often utilize what are called "Honey Pots" systems designed to be vulnerable to Hackers and Script Kiddies. I do this when I am testing security vulnerabilities as part of my job.
Occasionally I may be connected to these systems and surf the net from them while working. These kids most of which live in NJ, gained access to the Honey Pot they read the cookies that were stored from my browser and used that info to attack sites I visit.
You can do Google searches on my name and find posts on realguns.com handloaders.com all spanning over a year with no Trolling or Flaming. These guys read any posts that I may have responded find any controversy then try to exploit and perpetuate the flame.
This has been going on for years. I have not read all the flames they posted here on this site but I have seen what theyve posted elsewhere. If someone were making comments about your mother or anyones family they would be displaying some pretty juvenile behavior. I am 38 years old, a workingman with a family of my own. I have much important things to do with my life than cause people grief. I am sorry for anything that was said to you or anyone else here in connection with my name. I honestly had nothing to do with it.

Just a note to all for what it's worth:

I work in the IT field. What Carmelo (maxman001) says here makes a lot of sense. I know that various IT security people, that have battled real hackers, have been targeted by hackers as a vendetta. Some of the IT security people that work for the FBI, etc. have had this problem. So, what Carmelo says here, is fully plausible and would explain a lot. So, I'm willing to give Carmelo a chance. It sounds legit to me. So, unless he shows it be otherwise in the future, I'm going to treat him as legit for now.

Just my two cents worth,
-Bob F.

Greetings all

Before I continue with my post I would like to apologize to everyone on the forum for any past "grief" or mayhem that may have been caused here in my name.

I assure you I had nothing to do with it.

I have registered with the handle maxman001 to deter the trolls from causing more mischief here pretending to be me. Their purpose for doing so is a long story that spans several years; I wont bore everyone with the details.

After receiving some greatly appreciated assistance from Terry Bleaukamp and Kathi from world travel I decided to at least attempt to join in the discussion here in hopes that I might still be welcome.

I am leaving in Sept 20 for my first Safari in SA. Headed to the Eastern Cape for some Plains Game hunt with PH Charl Shoeman.

I just wanted to say that though I havent been posting I have been following the threads on the forum and must say this site has the greatest overall knowledge of African Hunting than any other Ive come across on the net.

I figured one of the more low-key plains game hunts in the Eastern Cape would be best for my first trip.

I plan to hunt Kudu, Wildebeest, Blesbok, Hartebeest, Warthog, Duiker, and other P/G. My understanding is ranges could be out as far as 250-300 yards.

I dont know if I can hit anything I aim for at 300 yards but I have been practicing all summer at the Illinois State Rifle Association 200 yard range and can hit an 8 inch paper plate off the Stony point sticks 5 out of 5 times so I figure Im ready.

Just wanted to say hello and maybe start fresh in the forum.

The guys at Foundstone are the key players in exposing most of the Major Internet vulnerabilities that come up.
They tend to stay behind the scenes and are rarely mentioned in the headlines. They do conduct seminars however and if you can ever get your company to fund IT training then at least one Foundstone class should be on your list.
If you want to learn these are the guys to teach you.
