Two, one blued steel and beautiful walnut and the other stainless/synthetic and light. Pick the rifle to suit the hunt. DRSS "If we're not supposed to eat animals, why are they made out of meat?" "PS. To add a bit of Pappasonian philosophy: this single barrel stuff is just a passing fad. Bolt actions and single shots will fade away as did disco, the hula hoop, and bell-bottomed pants. Doubles will rule the world!"

Only two .375 H&H rifles, but nice ones. One, an iron sighted first year of production Model 70 Super Grade built in 1937 by the talented John Oberlies of Dayton, Ohio for Robert Patterson, President of NCR. Next, a London Rigby, built on a standard 98 Mauser action for my shooting friend, Bertram Dunn, in 1969 when he was CIA Station Chief in Kabul. It is equipped with a Griffin and Howe clone detachable side mount made by Rigby. Bert used Weaver K-3s on this rifle because they could be replaced for thirty bucks if damaged on a hunt. His iron sights were standard Rigby three leaf open sights. The Rigby was ordered for a planned tiger hunt that he found impossible to complete, even for a CIA station chief, in the prevailing attitude of the time. His correspondence concerning the hunt is most interesting reading.
