here's a photo I took after cleaning my camera with some scotch. Alas, I worked on the Sabbath. I had two weddings at which to officiate or pontificate or celebrate.. I can't remember what's funeral speak and what are wedding terms... anyway, I got both of the couples hitched up, just fine. The second wedding was a real biggie with a tented sit-down dinner. The bride was a big fan of martinis... almost frozen Absolute with a little dirtying with olive juice, a swishing around of the glass with Martini & Rossi, an olive stuffed with a jalapena... Dang, I had to leave that place after the second one (or spend the night in the bushes) and was pretty darn glad I live within walking distance only a few hundred yards from the venues... As some of you may remember, I made a bet to get down to a reasonable weight by my P.A.C elephant hunt in March. I'm already 15 pounds lighter, but the bubbling brie with minced onions and green, yellow and red peppers... all to dip with course black bread that was still hot from the oven... Or the quail breasts wrapped with bacon cooked over mesquite.. or the tenderloin with horseradish (grainy, not mushy)... Or the hand-churned ice cream with real chunks of fresh peaches... heck, none of that tempted me. And I get PAID to do this!!! Anyway.. no single malts for me this evening, but I can clearly see that the elephant only has three legs... That's the elephant on the right. The one on the left has four and all the others have five... Did I get it right or do I have to open the secret bottle of Oban I have under the computer table? Or is that elephant just kicking a turd? JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

Why does an elephant have four feet? > > > >Because it can't do it with 10 inches! Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war; That this foul deed shall smell above the earth With carrion men, groaning for burial.

After my fourth double GlenMorangie 18, the elephant on the left had four feet, but the one on the right had three, what gives? Hair, not Air! Rob Martin

But HHmag, did you have a primo cigar to go with the Glenmorangie? It will cause the eyeballs to stop their twitter, ease gas pains, make restless leg syndrome go away, kill the IRS s.o.b. who plans to audit you and make your wife look as pretty as the day you met. I suggest Aruto Fuentes Maduros #8.

Romeo y Julietta Robusto Habana 6x48. Fuentes are good, but I like the nutty flavor of the RyJ with the the Glenmorangie. The Feuntes go a bit better with my stock of MacCallen 1871. Hair, not Air! Rob Martin

HHmag, I bow to the gentleman who knows about which he speaks. How about an invite to share such and experience. The airfare (even with the fuel surcharges.. damn, even if you live in Alaska) will be well worth the fine cigar and single malt. Or come and see me.. I'll put you in a double stand and drink the houch and smoke the cigars while you try to kill one of my tiny whitetails... all the while watching me become the "non-designated driver"... But I'll grill you a fine piece of Angus beef and maybe take you by to lust after 1115s fine wife... or Jorge's.. Deer season begins the 22nd of October. But, keeping this in the spirit of African huntnig, you'll have to hunt with a .375 H&H or better, and no Remingtons... HHMag: Having Cuban roots, I must say I am impressed that you are such a cognocenti of fine cigars. Ignorant of cigars, dreaming of elephants, I am grateful for the Highland gift to mankind Food fills the wame, an' keeps us leevin; Tho' life's a gift no worth receivin, When heavy-dragg'd wi' pine an' grievin; But, oil'd by thee, The wheels o' life gae down-hill, scrievin, Wi' rattlin glee. With a bit of Cragganmore aboard it appears that this particular elephant is in musth or some such. It looks like he has stepped on some of his equipment. Looks quite swollen and kind of squared off with lumps on the front end. That looks like it must have hurt. Better him than me. I think I will have another Cragganmore myself. Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"

Ernest, I may just take you up on that, we are only about an 8 hour drive (the way I drive, 10 for most normal folk) apart. I have a humidor of mostly Cubans, including some interesting vintage stock from RyJ, AF and some good non-Cuban La Flor Dominicana Reserva Real Vintages as well (my second favorite, next to the RyJ Vintage). I'll bring the smokes! Another great cigar single malt is Longmorn 15, and can generally be found in the 40-50 a bottle range. My daily single, along with my dialy smoke- the ubiquitous Punch, they go great together. I do so like the lighter MacCallens (esp. the 25!, the 1970 is good as well) Yep, I do love my cigars and single malts. Nothing better after brunch when I hunt hard in the morning, or better in the evening around the fire telling lies with good friends! Hair, not Air! Rob Martin

vapodog, That's an Asiatic elephant, and totally off-topic for this forum. What Scotch were you drinking? George

Strike what I said. I'll let Jorge handle the smokes, and I'll bring the Scotch. I'll pick him up on the way to your place and we'll have a nice long weekend. You just gotta make sure we have a nice fire pit! I'll be back in the US at the end of the first week of Oct, if you're serious, it might be a hoot! And don't worry, Jorge, I'll drive my 78 Ford, it doesn't go as fast, so you'll be safe. Rob Hair, not Air! Rob Martin

George, I'm afraid that my tastes in Scotch do not match the others here. I'm a fan of J&B but that was several years ago. I gave up smoking and drinking years ago.....a good move as I couldn't aford hunting if I hadn't. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I am ashamed of myself, I'm still drinking Chevys and Black Velvet, guess its a "cowboy thang" but its pretty damn good mixed with Lonestar... This certainly turned into a drinking topic instead of elephant-talk.. "Hey, woman, pour me a Tormore, would you".. Well, she`s out of town a few days. Guess that`s why I play so tough.. Tormore is a cheap Speyside Malt. I guess I will enjoy one tonight, with a Cafe Creme Cigarillo. I don`t know much about cigars and cigarillos. Those are cheap ones bought on the gas station... I need to dig deeper in my wallet the next time.. Anders Hunting and fishing DVDs from Mossing & Stubberud Media: www.jaktogfiskedvd.no ..and my blog at: http://andersmossing.blogspot.com
