Michael RobinsonNow
that lion - is lion-hearted! What a beast!
And the buff, too. Again, what a beast!
Incredibly tough animals.

Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

fujotupuHis physical condition suggests he'd seen better days; approaching the end of his time and left in a blaze of glory rather than being hounded by a pack of hyenas.
Definitely a 6+++ year old specimen and quite likely without a family.

Beretta682EAmazing pictures - life is tough for predator and prey.
A little sad that we can kill these amazing animals with the snap of a trigger finger.
Life is not fair or easy.

Neil-PHIf you scroll down to the comments, it turns the photographic fortune into a damn comedy show. The naivety of some folks is always worthy of laughter.

Who gets to do that job?

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Aaron NeilsonHow about this comment Neil - by Mr. Smith from the UK? Manufactured meat????
It's sad that nature is so cruel. What a pointless, cruel existence most creatures in this world lead. I believe eventually wild nature will be eradicated by us and replaced by safari parks where carnivors are fed manufactured meat instead of brutally killing prey, what a day that will be.

Neil-PHThe lion was on his own, I don't understand where the humanity is by not helping him. I say that because they followed him for two days and took pictures and since he was kicked out of his pride, he had no where to go. There is nothing wrong with stepping in to help, he had no options available. The same with the buffalo, there was no reason they couldn't medicate his wounds. There is a time when it's appropriate to let nature run it's course, but helping these two animals would have not harmed the ecological flow of things. I pray for their souls, they are awesome animals.
The mind boggles Aaron.....I can't get enough of these fools, hilarious.

Neil-PHOne more.......I'm running out of tissues !!!!
And Mr Armstrong-Ford did nothing to intervene? Just snapped away? He too must bear some responsibility. I have taken his details from his web site and forwarded them with this story to the RSPCA and PETA so they can take legal action. This makes me absolutely LIVID!

And, Mr. Smith, all the streets are paved with peppermint and the houses are made of gingerbread!

Some of the pics show the big male attacking a sub-adult male in an obvious attempt at infanticide. The eye wound looks like it was inflicted in a previous fight?

Aaron,
I read this to Joyce and she said, "That person isn't going to last long in the Zombie Apocalypse".
