Non doged or spotlighted Leopard in the Bubiana area?

Just seeing if anyone has scored a leopard in the Bubiana area of Zimbabwe without the use of dogs or artificial light?
I know its a great area for these Cats, but I have my heart set on a kill during daylight hours which I know might be a problem here.

Took one in June at 5 pm at Lemco, guy was using a traditional muzzle loader, smoked it at 55 yards, had a hell of a time the next day!!
To answer your question, years ago the Bubiana area was a large cattle section and leopard were persecuted, they became not only some of the largest cats around ( due to diet and genetics ), but also the smartest................10 years down the line, cattle are gone and so are some of those clever boys, also the re introduction of lion has changed/ moved the goal posts a little, there is competition now, frankly speaking you have as much chance in that area as anywhere else. Also if you make use of ' safari area tactics' your chances at getting a big tom in early are good.

L. David KeithMy last client in Bubi couldn't get his scope on the cat at last light in time. The cat left the scene. They decided to wait all night if necessary, but the cat never returned...until first light as they were about to leave. He got his Leopard after 3 unsuccessful tries in two countries. It can be done, but luck will play a role in it. I've heard Leopard grunting while on the move an hour before and after daylight. On one occasion, a tom chased a warthog right through camp at 12 noon, but that I would say is a once in a lifetime event. The entire area is heavy with granite kopje's and mountains. Bluff shelters and caves too. It is IMHO one of the best areas in Zim for quality toms. Email me if you want more details or booking info.

M 98Have a talk with Wayne Bartlett,he s one of the better leopard PH s around these days, ....in some areas in Zimbabwae your just wasting your time trying to get a leopard during day light hrs, other areas the scuess rate is pretty high
I hunted with Wayne 2 years ago, got my leopard...but it was a real hard hunt
