Has anyone seen any posts by OLD SARGE (Walter Matera) here or anyplace else in a while?

I was just reading his article "How Much Gun is Enough?" on page 127 in the "Accurate Reloading Africa book", and started me wondering where he has got of to.

His article was great! That guy is a great writer. I was wondering if he has written a book, I know he was thinking about one the last time I talked to him!

If anyone here has seen him on another website I'd like to get in touch with him.

If anyone has the AR book and have not read his article it is well worth you time!

P.S.~ I hope he is alright. I did a search on his screen name, and the last post here on AR was in 2008! What worries me is he posted very regularly, and I post on several websites and unless he has changed his screen name I haven't seen a post from him anyplace!

Well, with 295 looks, and not one response other than my own, leads me to one of two conclusions! #1 is that most are new enough that they simply never heard of OLD SARGE, or #2 they don't care to respond for some other more personal reason!

Suffice to say it worries me that he simply slipped off the face of the internet, and may be sick or worse! I hope not "WORSE"!

I didn't respond because I do not know, not because I don't care. I suspect others are in the same boat.

Mac,

Many old members seem to just fade away for one reason or another.

Most that I know personally have stopped being here for health reasons, and some have passed away.

Some have shared their stories privately with me, and I respect their wishes by keeping that to myself, as they could have posted the details if they wished themselves.

Thanks guys! I was worried about OLDsarge since I hadn't seen a post from him in a while.

If any of you guys have the AR Africa book, Walter's article is a real read! I was impressed with his writing! Glad to hear he is OK!
