I took some really good L. Hartebeest this season but this one had a black stripe running along the back of the neck. Anyone else come across this before?

I have seen this in TANZANIA.

Probably like black on the face of an impala that makes it look almost like a black faced impala.

Thanks Saeed. I have never come across it before. I was thinking that I could get SCI to endorse it as a sub specie and then double the trophy fee?

And then stay in Reno for extra month...

One comes across some rather strange things in hunting.

A few years ago, we were following a waterbuck.

We could see glimpses of him through the bush.

Then we saw a zebra stallion, alone.

I shot the stalion.

While skinning him, we saw something we have never seen before, despite skinning literally dozens of zebra.

Fat was concentrated under the black stripes!

No fat was found under the white stripes.

The fat cover was actually striped - orangey yellow stripe under the black skin white under the white skins!!

Once shot a Zebra that a Lion had clawed down the length of its body and the skin and stripes had reset opposing each other.

The zebra went up to St Peter: Am I white with black stripes or black with white stripes?

St Peter: I have no idea. Why don’t you go and ask God?

Ok

The zebra goes to our maker: I would like to know if I SM white with black stripes, or black with white stripes.

God : You are what you are!

A few days later the zebra meets St Peter.

Did you find out what you are?

No.

How come?

God said you are what you are.

Then you are white with black stripes.
If you were black, he would have said you is what you is!
