If animal rights activists existed 10,000 years ago we would have Mammoths and Mastodons instead of elephants.

It's a great article. I would make the point that it's a geographical issue. Elephants are doing far too well in some places, and are declining in others.

I saw a large decrease in elephant between 2013 and 2015 in one particular concession, despite increased anti-poaching on that particular concession. The neighboring concessions, not so much. Elephants have a large range.

When the wife and I visited Kruger last August the elephant damage was truly unbelievable. There are vast areas where there is almost no vegetation. The trees are all pushed over and dead even the grass was gone.

The eco bigots and animals rights people will be the end of the Kruger elephants and most other species in the park if something doesn't change soon.
