The guy riding the bull is lucky he didn't get shot by his hunting partner.

In regard to the marksmanship, I think the Gentleman with the Double made great decisions!

Or just plain stupid!

There are many professional South African PHs who are excellent at their job.

And there are a few who should never guide a hunter!

That is the PH. Thought he did extremely well in a tough situation. Kept calm in extraordinary circumstances.
No difference in this shot or shooting a Leopard off a hunter on the ground. High risk but a split second decision that needs to be taken.

Didn't show how the PH got picked up by the buffalo in the first place, presumed he had gone in to find it and got caught. The other PH did well, waited until the other PH had fallen clear from the buff then nailed it. Much less dangerous than I've seen where a leopard was shot off a PH who was on the ground trying to kick the leopard off and the shot that was fired into the leopard was only a matter of inches away from the PH. That was real scary.

I am interested to know how on earth the buffalo rider ended up in that situation. It must be something extraordinary.

Hunting.... it's not everything, it's the only thing.

As far as I understand, the gentleman getting hit by the buff is not the PH. I know the PH. He is the guy with the double rifle.

Bottom line is no one got seriously hurt.

In hunting, things can go south very quickly, unexpectedly!

A strong possibility of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, should have been with the rest of the pack instead of probably running ahead of everyone after the buffalo.

A friend of mine, here in Phoenix, shot a Buffalo off another friend of mine in Zambia (Alister Norton).

The Buffalo was on top of Alister trying to gore him. Mike ran right up on the Buffalo, before shooting it and actually put the muzzle on or that near the Buffalo before shooting.

After the event, Alister commented, that he could "feel" the shockwaves of the bullets energy on the Buffalo when Mike shot.

Alister suffered a sprained ankle and that was all IIRC.

That wasn't a Buffalo that had been shot. It had a wire on one of its legs and charged unprovoked and unexpected.

Shot a Buffalo that charged us in 2022 off of a tracker. He said that he could hear my bullet strike the Buff above him as it was trying to hook him, before it all went quiet.
