9 lbs???? Ouch! The stock had better absorb some of the recoil...like a lot of it! Now I like (love) light, easy to carry rifles...getting too old (should I say out of shape, too)...and this would appear to be too much of a good thing....It is a good looking rifle, however, and Lon Paul does have the reputation (even Jack Lott had him do work for him, and Jack was PARTICULAR)...and the price seems reasonable....Arthur Olds

That may actually have something to do with the sale of this rifle. It looks like the sellor may end up taking a bath on this one. Why else would he? Something wrong with it? Doubtful - probably just kicked a couple teeth loose when he fired it...

I wish him the best of luck selling.

This may be a classic example of a custom gun being worth less than the original weapon from which the rifle is derived.

I'd give him $2500 including the scope and original stock

I once had a 10.0 lb 505 Gibbs made by Sterling Davenport made on a Mauser Magnum 20 single square bridge action that was supremely accurate but belched fire and thunder and killed at both ends. It gave me a concussion and I sent it back to Sterling. The rifle was originally made for Mark Sullivan and he insisted it be light for caliber. He can handle the recoil, I only thought I could.
