The Eastern Sport Show is coming up soon!

The show is Feb 4-12 in Harrisburg, PA.

Is anyone going to be there? Attending or Exhibiting?

It is quite an event if you have never been there.

Hello! We will be there again this year. After seeing so many of our old friends there last year we are looking forward to this show.

Our Booth will be in a new location, a more central position, on the North wall of the Outfitters Hall.

Booth # 6607

[Be patient while the map loads!]

Come see us there.

I will be there most of the week to help my friends out at Keerweder Safaris at booth 5005. Stop by to chat about plains game hunting in Namibia. I will also probably be at the Trop booth 5205 from time to time for work with SomethingMoreSafaris. It looks like it will be a good show this year, lots of press and more exhibitors.

Mike et al,

I hope none of the exhibitors who may post on AR were there today to set up...it was an absolute MESS!!!

Seems a "gentleman" who may also be an exhibitor and his wife had a bit of a domestic dispute and he either shot or stabbed his wife behind the convention hall. Police were called and the place was virtually locked down with sniper teams and police all over the place. No exhibitors could go in or out, traffic was jammed up and there was lots of confusion as they thought he was barricaded in a trailer in the back. Turns out this guy managed to get away apparently the last we heard and was on the run. There was lots of confusion and mixed messages coming from the authorities.

The hall was opened back up again about 5:00PM so a full day was lost in setting up. Hopefully the wife is okay and they get this A-hole. Be kind to the exhibitors if they are not fully engaged by the start of the show tomorrow. I was helping my friends at Keerweder Safaris when it happened but we managed to stay low and get the booth done but it was not a good way to kick off the show.

Went into the outdoor show tonight. Alot more African exhibitors than I can remember in the past. Spent most of my time looking around the outfitter area and dreaming Smiler Wasn't as crowded as I'd thought it would be either for the first afternoon. Managed to walk out without spending more money - after all, have to save up for my Zim trip with ITS in August.

What a shame about that poor woman getting shot, I too hope they nab the creep...I was at Atlanta Africa-only show last month...a # of the exhibitors remarked that H'burg was just too big & impersonal for them (ie-- lots of guys just grabbing brochures/DVDs, not really wanting to talk) I live close & usually attend, its a BIG show, not for everyone, can be hard to get time to talk w/exhibitors b/c of crowds, but , hey, it must be "working" for most vendors or they wouldn't keep retuning...my Newfie outfitter friend does pretyy well there..

Well just got home from the show was there for 4 days. First off they got the shooter in Missouri. He drove home to be arrested. As for the woman not sure except that she survived. Spoke to many of the African outfitters and put on a lot of miles going thru the buildings.
Will continue later.
