Got this from another forum, and would be interested to know what you guys think about it. Maybe the topic has already been debated here, I've not been around long and may have missed the thread.

However, this is the excerpt from Field and Stream:

"What do you do when the follow up shot fails? Apparently you sue.

When professional hunter Rolf Rohwer had to follow up a terrible shot a client made at a male lion in Tanzania, he slipped 500gr Federal Trophy Bonded Bear Claw cartridges into his .458 Magnum rifle.

As the lion charged, Rohwer say he didn't have a clear shot until the animal was 7 yrds away. He hit but did not stop the beast, and the lion serverely mauled him.

In a $5 million suit against the cartridge manufacturers, Rohwer, who is hunting again, argues that inferior bullets, not poor shooting, resulted in permanent damage to his legs, arms, and back.

"This bullet is marketed as suitable for all big game, and its obviously not suitable for killing a charging lion, " says Louis Franecke, Rohwer's attorney.

On its website, Federal claims the 500gr Trophy Bonded Bear Claw has "reliable bullet expansion from 25yrds to extreme ranges, " well beyond the 7yrds Rohwer says he fired at. Federal spokesman Mike Larsen says that the company does not comment on litigation."

Bill Heavey, Field & Stream, July 2003 issue, pg 18.

Whaddya think??????

I think you need to do a search on this forum about this topic. [Wink] It was thoroughly discussed a month or so back. IMO, the PH and his lawyer are on the wrong track. Seems its always the easiest to blame another for one's own screw ups.

When are people going to realize that sometimes shit happens & we ALL NEED TO TAKE RESPONSABILITY FOR OUR ACTIONS. No disrespect, but the lion should have one that one.

Thought as much! And more, but I think there is no need to repeat what has already probably been said by someone else.

Il'll try and get the previous thread, thanks!
