Guys and Gals, we leave for Zambia Sunday. As I said in a previous topic we will be hunting a ranch, Pia Manzi and GMA. This leopard was taken on the ranch about 5 days ago. 3 Spanish clients took 4 leopard in 5 days this one by far the largest. Looks like we missed this one by 2 weeks. Wendell and I went to this ranch last year on what I would call an exploratory hunt, and I took a leopard. The owner now has leased the GMA across the river and built new facilities. I must say I have never laughed so much on any hunt before. The owner is a Frenchman with a fantastic sense of humor. He does everything in his power to make you feel at home, and to make sure you are comfortable. Every effort is made to ensure you have a good hunt as well. The new faculties are first rate. Very nice place for the wife.
I will post a full report when I return and you can contact Wendell to book.

Lucky Spanish client

This looks like a monster to me but I have only taken two. What do you think?

It's a truly fantastic Leopard --

But, you can bet that somebody will find fault with it. It will probably be someone that's never been closer to Africa than a keyboard, but he'll be an expert on Leopards .............. and on Lion; and on Elephant; and on ................

I'm no expert having only taken two but I'd say no more than 7 feet and 120ish pounds.

I think this 7' leopard is about the same size:

I do not think the leopard as big as this cat (7'3", 155lbs):

That said, he is a good leopard anywhere. No question. He is not a giant IMHO.

Thanks Rich, I don't have the pics handy of the other. This is not my leopard so I don't have a dog in this hunt but for those of you that don't think this is a toad.

Look at the head and front feet and shoulders.

hell if you laid me out flat with my arms and legs streached out I would even look thin in the middle.

I will see this skull in camp next week I am betting its huge.

It looks pretty average to me and there is nothing wrong with that! Any mature male leopard is a great trophy.

After investing two trips and 14 days into my first Leopard, any Leopard is a good Leopard....if you are NOT using lights or dogs....
With proper arrangement for the photo, any Leopard can made to be looking "good"....I don't care to speculate on how "good" this Leopard is....a "good" Leopard is around 7-ft or better, 140 lbs or better....AND any taken in an enviroment where he has the advantage is a good Leopard...
