My brother Jonathan and Stewart Schanzenback managed to capture this female leopard on a trail cam recently.

She looks like she is expecting. Nice photos, it's neat to get a candid view of wildlife going about their business.

Well done! What trail cam and at what distance, may I ask? I'd like to bring a trail cam with me on my next trip.

If you own a gun and you are not a member of the NRA and other pro 2nd amendment organizations then YOU are part of the problem.

Out of curiosity, how can you tell it's a female? Is it body size, or neck and shoulder development?

The cam is a Cuddeback no flash. My brother says try to go for the no flash option, as the flash may disturb the cat. He also says he has had the best results setting the cam at 10 to 15 feet from the bait.

Yes, body and neck size help a PH to determine whether it's male or female. The head of a big tom seems to sit on its shoulders, making it appear as if it has no neck. Then, of course, there is the spoor. The PH's that I work with make certain that they have seen a scrotum before they will even think about giving the hunter the go ahead.

Nicely done. I wish someone would get a photo of the infamous female leopard in Makuti that sniffs people at night. I would like to know what she looks like as I know what her sniffing the back of my head sounds like!
