In the immortal words of Oddball in Kelly's Heros speaking to Moriarty, "Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?"

All the downer threads of late on the end of hunting, lions, hunt report critics, etc. How about some good thoughts, something hopeful for a change. ". . . [H]ave a little faith baby."

Nothing negative from here. I am having the best year ever.
Construction was terrible for a few years in Michigan, now it is better than ever.

Because of that i will go on two safaris.

Mike, I think sometimes we forget how good we have it. In most countries around the world, the ability to own firearms and hunt on public government land, or even on our own land, would only be a dream. Enjoy what we have and are allowed to do, and protect those rights with all the strength we can muster.

Every day I think about my upcoming elephant/buffalo/leopard hunt. Makes me happy as a clam.

Been hunting every year.

And will continue to do so as long as I am able.

Sadly, time constraint does not allow me more than once a year.

I couldn't agree more Mike. We all need to work together with positive input to promote hunting.

Like a lot of us, I started out with the idea that I would hunt Africa one time, and get her out of my system.( That was all I really could afford). That was back in 2000, but on that hunt I contracted a incurable disease. Some call it Clinique Du Afrique. The only remidy I have found is to keep going back. That seems to provide some relief. To date I have 13 hunts.

The Good Lord has blessed me. Making me able to experience some of Africa's treasures. Next year I am joining 6 other experienced hunters on a unique dagga boy/tuskless hunt in the Zambezi Valley.

Please! Don't anyone pinch me. I'm not ready to wake up from this dream.

Feelin' Groovy

Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last.
Just kicking down the cobble stones.
Looking for fun and feelin' groovy.

Baa daa, Baa daa, Baa daa, Baa daa,

Feelin' Groovy.

Hello lamp-post,
Whatcha knowin'?
I've come to watch your flowers growin'.
Ain't cha got no rhymes for me?

Do-it-in doo doo, doo doo,

Feelin' groovy.

I've got no deeds to do,
No promises to keep.
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me.

Life, I love you,

All is groovy.

Soggy Bottom Boys - I'm A Man Of Constant Sorrow

I am the man of constant sorrow
I've seen trouble all my days
I bid farewell to ol' Kentucky
The place where I was born and raised.

The place where he was born and raised

For six long years I've been in trouble,
no pleasure here on earth I've found
For in this world, I'm bound to ramble,
I have no friends to help me now.

He has no friends to help him now

It's fair thee well, my old true lover,
I never expect to see you again.
For I'm bound to ride that Northern Railroad,
perhaps I'll die upon this train

Perhaps he'll die upon this train

You can bury me in some deep valley,
For many years where I may lay.
And you may learn to love another
while I am sleeping in my grave.

While he is sleeping in his grave

Maybe your friends think I'm just a stranger
My face you never will see no more
But there is one promise that is given,
I'll meet you on Gods golden shore

He'll meet you on God's golden shore ...

CRYBABY

Mt brother and I grew up on a steady diet of Kelly's Heroes. I have a Ruger MkII 22 expressly because of Oddball. Of course at 10 I couldn't afford a real Luger but dad kicked in for my 10th birthday. ...still drinking some wine, eating some cheese and catching some rays..you know...
