I am hosting a large caliber rifle competition and in need of a paper target of a cape buffalo. The target will be shot off-hand standing at 50 meters. Please advise where I may obtain & purchase. Thank you !---- Jeff

I don't think you are liable to find that as a regular product in the USA. I'd suggest that you download a picture of a Cape Buffalo (looking more or less right at you), save it on a disk, and take it to Kinko's and see what they would charge to copy/print a picture of the buff in black and white for you. It will be like "printing" a banner.

If it is life-sized, I'd think that picture would about 5-6 feet tall depending upon whether the animal had its head up or stuck straight out.

I don't think that they will be cheap, but I bet that they can do it. Kudude

PS: you might want to consider "target pasters" after each order of shooters with scoring after every order. You could get by with fewer targets in that fashion. K-d

I have downloaded images & color plotted them on a large format plotter like those found in an architect's/engineer's office. Max. size is 36x as long as you want. The image isn't perfect but it makes a fine target for 50meter shooting. If you have no luck I could send you some B&W bond copies, no cost. PM me your address if you can't get the Kinkos thing going. beer

Here's another option. Find a photo of a buffalo and borrow a LCD projector. Project the photo onto a piece of plywood and trace the outline (and any paint by number shades you want to add, if you plan to paint). Then take a jigsaw and cut along the line. PRESTO!! You have a target and a template to make many more.

A handy tip is you convert the photo to just 3 or 4 grayscales. Then you project only one grayscale at a time and trace the lines for each scale to get your paint by numbers areas.

The cardboard box that gunsafes and refrigerators come in open up to a good size. With a can of black spray paint and even my sorry artistic ability, you can get a fairly representational target approx life size.. cheap!

Is there somewhere on that site to change to English? If not, can you point me to the specific item? Thanks!
