I have a pre 64 model 70 that I would like ro rebarrel. It's origional barrel has already been bored out so it's not origional condition. Can you suggest a gunsmith? I'd like to take it on my hunt this summer. I live near Pittsburgh but I'll ship it if necessary.
Thanks

Terry, this man has done some work for me and it is fine, not a famous GS but I think does good work in a timley fashion. Bob Bailey 814-842-6359. He is located just south of Hyndman Pa. I would suspect about and hour and change from you. East on 30 to just west of Bedford and south on 96 about a five miles south of Hyndman. His pricing is not out of this world. I am thinking of having him rebarrel my Savage 110 300 WINMMAG for 416 Taylor.

He does GREAT work. I just got my 'new' 1948 M70 300 H&H back from him this week.

If you call him tell him Steve Holder says hello.
