I was curious on anybody's input on bringing a T/C Encore chambered in .375H&H to Africa for a hunt. I don't have a hunt planned or can even afford to go, but I do have an Encore and don't have extra money for a complete new big bore. Give me your thoughts, please. "We are what we repeatedly do. What are you planning to hunt? If it is plains game, then the Encore will be fine. ______________________ Age and Treachery Will Always Overcome Youth and Skill

Where you choose to hunt will also be a factor. Some countries have restrictions as to calibre and/or firearm type......

You're putting the cart before the horse, but yes, the Encore has been used in Africa before. Is yours a handgun or rifle set up? George

I have one and intend to use it on plains game. It's a very accurate barrel but I don't know if I would use a single shot on Cape Buffalo. I have no Africa experience but my 375 H&H drops deer & hogs fine and I am looking forward to taking it to Africa. If I were to ever use a single shot on buffalo, I would opt for the 416 Rigby chambering. I got the 375 H&H in an Encore for the same reason you are looking at it. I like it so much I am getting the 416 Rigby. 300 bucks for a big bore is perfect, and if I don't like it, It will sell. Lance Lance Larson Studio lancelarsonstudio.com
