I was just visiting a friend’s website to upload some African hunting digital photo files for processing (trophyshotprints.com). I was watching a video on his home page showing the work he completed for Orion Entertainment CEO-Chris Dorsey for his wildlife photo gallery on the Ultimate Sportsmen’s Lodge TV Series. Fantastic work by Roland as usual.

I know a lot of you already use Roland’s services as he is the best in the business in my opinion. I noticed that he is offering a special for AR members only on his “Bwana Showcase Special” poster style metal prints. It is pretty awesome. Roland is taking up to 12 photos and incorporating them into a movie style poster metal print for the cost of one showpiece for AR members. They are 24X30, 24X36, or 24X40 in size.

Just thought some of you might want to know about this in case you had not visited Roland’s site recently.

Best always,
Shawn

Ted…I like Roland as well. We have seen others removed from this forum that have returned. Perhaps one day we will see Roland here again. Roland has always been and continues to be very gracious to the members of AR. He always goes above and beyond with his time spent on all of his digital projects to make them everything that they can be.

Was Roland banned?

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

I am not aware if he left on his own accord or not. If he did, I assume he could return. If he was asked to leave then perhaps we will see him again one day.

Regardless, his work is still the best I have utilized and that is why I and many others continue to use Roland's skills for our personal and commercial work as well.

Rowland had a bit of an episode that left one wondering if he had gone off his meds. He was a really nce guy but I for the life of me could never understand what actually set him off and led to the tirade of abuse and filthy that he let fly with.

I am sure that he could plead temporary insanity and be allowed back any time. I am not sure that he was banned though. I understood that he just left of his own accord.

Anyway, for what its worth. Rowland should come back. Just put a shock collar on him incase he starts to chase game thats not on license

I suppose we all have had our individual moments of indiscretion that might have even been repeated. I think Roland should come back too and hope that he does one day.

Yes, twice.

I let him back here again, then he had another meltdown.
I wish him the best of luck, but he is not coming back here again.

I don't have time to tolerate endless childish behavour.

I fully understand that this is your sight. It is something that you conceptualized and built and as such you should ultimately decide who or what is good for it. I do the same on all sights that I control as others visiting here do for theirs as well.

None of us frequenting your sight should insist that you do something differently or tell you how to organize it. You allow divergent opinions and suggestions and I think that is what others are expressing on this topic.

Right or wrong I think Roland was simply taken in by some of the negative banter on AR and responded in an inappropriate manner. I am not defending anyone’s actions but Roland’s heart is generally in the right place as we have all seen here before.

Roland sent me an email after seeing this thread and asked if I would post his comments to the thread. If you take issue with it please just delete this reply.

Comments from Roland

I am not sure I recall correctly. It has been a while , a long while at that. If my memory serves me correctly, the initial rant was pretty severe. It made me wonder what the hell was going on.

I do not recall the 2nd.

It is Saeed's decision. This is not a democracy.

Roland certainly did a lot of good for the Stu Taylor matter. Best of luck to him no matter what happens here.

This is precisely what I mean about his very childish behavior.

He sent me a PM, in which he was extremely rude and insulting, and finished by stating he is leaving AR with many of his friends, and has no wish to have anything to do with AR in the future.

I thought the best thing to do is give him what he wished for.

Roland has major problems - those who have been here long enough might remember his meltdowns.

Again, I have absolutely no wish to deal with an individual who cannot conduct himself in a decent manner.

I just recently had Roland do two of his metal prints for me and they turned out awesome. Great way to preserve safari memories.

I just went back and read what Roland has posted what was supposed to be our PM conversation.

He has edited what he has posted, removing quite a lot of what he had written.

Just re-enforces what I have said before about him.

Being an utter liar in addition to be childish is not going to do him any good in dealing with people.

I have no reason whatsoever to accuse him of anything, but state the facts as they happened.

If he had kept quiet, I would not have posted this, but editing our conversation to put himself in a better light is rather sickening!

He should be in politics, people like him do well in politics!

I agree Mike. I think it is great to have a mix of mounts, beautiful professionally done photos/metal prints, and of course the memories to enjoy!
