I had a freind and client of mine, Joe Bailey who is a saddlemaker and small time rodeo guy, make me a soft case.We used an old case I had as a model and changed the dimensions to fit a 25 inch open sight barreled rifle like my CZ.Joe said that the cow leather he uses is top quality.I supplied him with a heavy duty zipper I found online.Oil was applied to the leather to protect it against moisture. The leather was much lighter in color before the oil was applied. One of the things I like most about it is the protective padding he used.It was a thin and very dense piece of rubber like material. It gives great protection to the rifle without being bulky.I am told that when he makes a leather case,wallet,etc... it last a lifetime.1234

The black lining that I have my thumb on in the picture is leather I guess.I don't know what the protective stuff inside of that is.I am going to ask him again to get a better description.

Nice case, but a word of caution, learned from painful experience. If the lining does not breathe, condensation can result. It happened to me years ago on a late high country hunt in new Mexico.

I wanted something to protect a rifle in back of a landcruiser or in a moving vehicule without being too bulky.I like those leather slips with the furry linings but they don't give any protection.

Beautiful case, but I agree with Brice, make sure you know what material was used for the "lining/padding". If it holds moisture you may be in trouble.
