I didn't want to say anything until this was finalized, but the situation in Zimbabwe has made it impossible to print and ship as mail costs have increased over 2000% since Jan. 1, 2004. That's no typo - 2000%.

Also, printing and shipping of NYATI will be from South Africa, with all our other products soon to follow. This is good news although it has been a mission to accomplish, and will end the long time it has taken to deliver the magazine form Zimbabwe.

Alan

Dallas, Texas - October 2004 - The African Hunter magazine was launched ten years ago, and has become the voice of the African hunting industry, and widely read throughout the world. However, its biggest and fastest growing readership has been in the United States of America. The publication works closely with prominent hunting and conservation organizations and is well supported by such organizations on and off the African continent. Published six times a year, the magazine is distributed throughout the world on subscription and is recognized as the leading African hunting magazine published anywhere in the world. However, in recent years, difficulties in providing an effective distribution and service from Africa has made it necessary to explore alternatives which will ensure African Hunter readers receive a quality product in a timely fashion.

Said Anthony Williams, editor-in-chief of the magazine "The decision to move final production, packaging and mailing to the USA, is probably the most exciting development since launching the magazine ten years ago." An exciting new partnership with Dallas, (Texas) based African Sporting Publications and Products, will see service and quality second to none! Recent developments in Zimbabwe has seen extreme difficulties in mailing the magazine, and current subscribers will be pleased to know that several issues are currently in print in the USA and will be mailed shortly. All future issues, starting with the October 2004 issue, will be printed and mailed from the USA.

This will mean a magazine which is;

BIGGER - Our new partnership will see growth in both the scope and volume of the magazine. MORE to read, MORE to experience, MORE to dream about.

BETTER - We have arrived! Applying first world technologies to our traditional problems of printing and mailing from Africa will see development we have only dreamed of. Efficient service, timely follow up, Instant response. Readers will not miss a magazine again and through our new web based subscriber management programs, will be constantly up-dated and informed as to the status of their subscription.

FASTER - Readers will receive their magazine within days of completion in Africa. On Time, Every Time. No more waiting for the ox-cart to make its way across Africa. It will be printed to exacting standards and high quality, posted from the USA direct to readers. Delivery IN DAYS! Not months.

Commented Anthony Williams "While this production base has now been established in the USA, little else has changed. All editorial copy, articles and research will still be produced from Africa, and plans to expand our editorial staff will soon see more and varied content. possibly even more issues per year."

Alan, This is great news. I received a personal note from you that you were contemplating this move. I am a long time subscriber and don't want to miss a single issue. I want to publicly thank you for all your help in "sorting" out my subscription problems with Cavindish Guns in South Africa. We are now on the right track. Again my thanks, HOOT

In 6 monthes, I received only one issue. As You explain me you got problems with shipping.
I waited 4 monthes to get NYATI, but it was 100 times worth the waiting.
My subscription will be to renewed in 5 monthes, but for the instant I got only one issue.
Should I subscribe again in March ?

Thanks ...........and congratulations.

Alan,

good to hear from you! I don't know if you remember me, I met you at Reno last year, in line at a buffet dinner, ended up eating with you and a gentleman from Zimbabwe. Any way, just talked with Ant, he's very excited about the mag getting published in the USA. I'm really happy to see things are looking up for "African Hunter" I read every issue cover to cover....
I'll see you Reno for sure. You take care
