Although the true extent of the Poaching in Simbabwe to time can probably determine nobody accurately, the WWF assumes up to 80 per cent of the game existence on the expropriated game farms were already destroyed.

By Hans George Arndt

Now „the raids expand “also on national and private game protected areas and reservations. Both „usual “and endangered game are killed thereby.

Even Black Rhino are annihilated. Their horn particularly brings up to 90.000 euro, a quantity to money in a country, in which the average money-taut for Wilderei amounts to six euro!

Karen Paolillo of the private game protected area „save Valley “, in the southeast „Lowfeld “, reports: „You kill everything from the elephant to the crescent, partially for the nutrition partially from greed. “

In a country of empty business and racing inflation a river horse is and/or approximately paired a ton of good meat with impact-tooth-like Hauern, which can be sold as ivory replacement, a genuine temptation.

The nature protection federation of Simbabwe assumes that that it will give at the latest 2013 country-wide no more game, should impetuous killing on momentary level stop.

Many fear that Simbabwe could follow the sad example of the Republic of the Congo (before times Zaire and/or Belgian the Congo). In the Congo a healthy river horse existence was reduced by approximately 230,000 animals within 30 years of African „Independence “ to estimated 800 individuals

That would not surprise me at all..I have been to concession recently that once abounded with game, where you could see a 100 Kudu or Sable in a day, and today is is without wildlife.

Time will tell, but if Magabe opens the parks to the indigenous all is gone down the drain and he just did that.
