Has anyone hunted with Eden Wildlife Trust in Namibia?? I wanted to chat with Jamy Traut in Dallas but I didn't get the chance.

I am thinking about splitting my upcoming family plains game hunt between two different outfits. I wanted to give Eden a look.

Any info you can pass on would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Go Duke!!

I know Jamie, and they have a very good reputation. You will not be sorry if you book with them.

Texas Blue Devil,

The Hunting Report has six reports on file from subscribers who hunted with Eden Wildlife Trust from 2005 through 2007. All are positive reports. The species they report hunting include leopard, elephant, sable, giraffe, eland, gemsbok, red hartebeest, waterbuck, blue wildebeest, kudu, zebra, warthog, springbok and steenbok. Several of them hunted leopard. All recommend the experience. You can go to the Hunting Report web site and order the reports to read them for yourself.(They're 99 cents each.) A real plus is that the reports generally include the contact info for the hunters, so you can call or e-mail them with more questions.

There have been several articles about Eden in all the major magazines by Dwight Van Brunt (of Kimber rifles) and Craig Boddington. Dwight speaks very highly of Eden and I think he goes there every year.

Have driven through part of it to get to where I was hunting. Saw lots of game from the main road.

Eden is at the top end of any operation in Namibia. The guy I've have hunted with twice, Mike Kibble, speaks well of Traut.

I was there in August [08] looking for an impala, the ranch I was on was in a rebuilding program on impala, so we booked a side trip at Eden, so of course I saw everything at Eden but an Impala ram. I did see large numbers of plains game while I was there. The most exciting time was while I was in a ground brush blind I had a rather large, male black Rhino come in and take a very close look at me and decided I must have smelled bad because he winded me at 20 yards and ran off, which I was rather glad of his departure since all I had was a bow with me. I did get the entire episode on film so when I watch it it still raises the pulse meter a great deal. They had really nice lodge facilities and was pretty upscale. Nice place, lots of game.
