Ladies and Gentlemen, We are getting ourselves ready for our next hunt next month. I was preparing to load our ammo, and Walter kindly offered to help. Walter "These cases look very nice and clean. I am going to help you. You put the primers in, and I will put the powder in" "Not on your life mate! You are not touching my ammo" "It is OUR ammo! I am going to be using them too. So why do I trust you and you do not trust me?" "Your past performance in loading ammo is still fresh in my mind""Well, that was a little mistake. I promise to be careful now" "Forget it. I have always loaded my own ammo every year, and I am not going to change that now. I especially do not want you getting involved in this!" He started looking at a bag I brought in from the chemist, and found that it had suncream and mosquito repellent in it. "Can I look what is in this bag? I promise not to break anything." "Yes you can. In fact, why don't you mix that stuff to make tse tse flies repellent?" "Aah, this is what you did last year. Nelson said it worked very well on those damn flies" "You have to mix 2 bootle of Deet, one bottle of mosquito repellent and one bottle of sun cream" So he proceed to do mix them, and our dog Dogmatix was supervising him. Dogmatix and Walter are best friends. They both love to eat, and as Walter is generally eating something at any given time, Dogmatix likes to be around him as he throws her some food.

Didn't Walter read the fine print on the red bottle, saying "not to mix with other chemicals"?

Wayne, I got you a new toy this year. It is a little HD video camera, which records on a 64GB internal memory, for several hours. It has also got a battery that last about 10 hours! You have to put it at a watrehole and leave it running all day. It would be very interesting to see what comes to drink and at what time. Walter says it is better to just tie you up in a tree to do the video. I suggest you plan a few nasty tricks for him this year!

Sounds like a nifty little toy................may have to set it up in Walters tent to see just what he does get up to when he says he is sleeping......... Cant wait and looking forward to seeing you all again!

You guys don't know how much fun I have with Walter. This man is the epitome of confusion! He called a few minutes ago. No good morning, no hello. "Do you always have to book the wrong dates?" "What are you on about now?" "Nelson is coming on the 10th, which is a Saturday. 12 is Sunday, we are leaving on Wednesday. So hi and me have only two days to get our Tanzania visa! And we have to go all the way to Abu Dhabi! "The 10th of October is a Sunday, and you two have 4 days to get your visas" "Who said anything about October. We are going in SEPTEMBER!" "You might go in September, I am not going until next month. I printed out all our itenary and gave it to you months ago. Have you lost it?" "Yes, and it is all your fault again. You should not have given it to me MONTHS ago" "Are you coming to have Iftar later?" "Yes I am. I enjoy having breakfast at 7 in the evning. In fact, I enjoy having breakfast any time. Try to remind the girls at the camp of that"

I am going to try it here on our animals, and see how it works in the next few days. I will post some of the footage I get.

Saeed, maybe I am the only one lacking knowledge on this but what are the bullets you are using. Sort of resembles a TSX but different. The group on targe is phenominal. Is this 375/404 something you developed? I have heard you describe it before and how effective it is on Buffalo. Hate to be ignorant but am curious. Thanks, Larry York, SC

I saw the name Walterhog on them which is sort of self explanatory but not entirely. York, SC

Saeed I can't what to see what tricks you play on Walter this year OR what tricks he plays on you!! BUT please keep him away from womens clothing this year he just does not look good in konga's I PM'ed you a trick we played on Philip in Uganda this year!!!

Larry, These are bullets we make ourselves ehre on a lathe. They are made of copper. We make them in several calibers, and they do seem to shoot better than factory made bullets. They are made one at a time, and we do keep the tolerances very close. They work very well on everything we have shot with them, including lions and leopards.

Be careful mixing sunscreen and Deet. Some people have a reaction to that. Good luck and shoot lots of video.

Saeed, Do you ever crimp those rounds? ALLEN W. JOHNSON - DRSS Into my heart on air that kills From yon far country blows: What are those blue remembered hills, What spires, what farms are those? Saeed What do you coat the bullets with, it looks like they have some kind of coating about the body. Also what speed do you get from your 375/404, I'm curious as to how close a 375 wby is to it. TerryR

Terry, The bullets are coated with molly. I use Outer's spray on molly. We get the exposed tip uncoated because we use those plastic chopping boards, which we drill holes in and place the bullets upside down in them. We then sprya them. I am using a relatively mild load of 88 grains of H4350, and this gives me about 2800 fps. We found this velocity to be best for penetration. We have tried higher velocities, but they did not give us as much penetration.

Walter working on that concoction brings two words to mind, "Mad Scientist". Saeed: Is anyone else going hunting other than Nelson, Walter and yourself? Will J. Parks, III

Looks like the armaments are ready. But please be careful that none of that white goopy stuff ends up in any of those yellow brass thingies! Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

Walters has can shoot whatever he wants. Trouble is finding "walterable" animals is quite hard. We have surprise guest joining us this year, you will know when I post my hunt report from the camp

I think the Vincents should be given much credit (relative to their peers in the industry)...finding "walterable" animals all these years is tough. Can't wait for your hunt reports. Looking forward to them as always. Is it safe to bet that the surprise guest is NOT Mark Sullivan? lol Best regards my friend, Chris

How about a "Walter Calendar", similar to a "Dilbert Calendar", I'd pay for that one!

Ah, there is nothing like loading those rounds for safari! Imagining just what will be in our sights when you pull the trigger. Have a great time Saeed but I'm sure with the usual suspects along, it will be a great time. Magic! 88.0 grains of H4350 Extreme is a charge of "Magic" for the .375/404 Jeffery and a 300-grain bullet ... especially a 300-grain Walterhog. Sort of like 105.0 grains of H4831 Extreme in a .416 Rigby with a 400-grainer, handed down to us by Buhmiller and O'Connor. Magic! And both are moderate pressure loads for a modern rifle. Saeed is wise to restrict Walter to reloading only plastic bottles with lotions and potions ... for Walter's use only!

Yes, I hope to do the same as we did last year.
