Namibia: Two Convicted for Hunting Warthog The Namibian (Windhoek) 30 August 2007 Posted to the web 30 August 2007 Windhoek Gobabis - Petrus Doeseb (28) and Albertus Hoxobeb (24) were convicted by the Gobabis Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on charges of illegal hunting. The State alleged that nature conversation officials caught the two on July 26 this year at Tjaka in the Gobabis District after they had killed a warthog. Magistrate Helen Boluwade ordered each man to pay a fine of N$800 or go to jail for eight months for killing the warthog.The two were also sentenced to a fine of N$250 each or jail sentences of three months on a second charge of illegal hunting. State Prosecutor Concitha Olivier handled the State's case while the accused men conducted their own defence.
